Yeah Sartre really fumbled a lot of his ideals when it came to his politics … which is to your point precisely the value of that quote: even Jean-Paul Sartre had his prejudices and fascistic opinions at times
Ahhh now you're speaking my language! Precisely. The Great Oscillation continues in the Roaring Twenties once again. Here's to delving into the abyss with a flashlight versus running away from the edge.
I want to thank you for explaining the historical context so well. I appreciate this. I agree that people are very distracted these days. But understanding history is important to discerning what is going on now.
I am a big fan of Victor Frankl. Wisdom I appreciate.
Thank you Susan, it's always a fun exercise to rethink old academic essays and make them a bit more palatable. We all of us so rarely delve deep into what we think we understand anymore, and I wanted to make sure I updated this essay so I could be clear in my own thoughts about what's the renewed fascism cropping up all over the world
We so need these essays, Samuél. The world is changing as you describe. Catching up here and would love to correspond and chat at some point soon, as we talked about a while ago. Maybe letters to one another about what's on our minds ... Anyway missing you. ~Mary
Yes, we must, it's been entirely too long. There's no time like the present. Why not send me a letter to slopezba@gmail.com and we'll get the ball rolling?
I'll think on it this weekend. I could create a separate section for this exchange, similar to the lovely one you have and need to study it... I don't think you know any of my work yet and I am catching up on yours. Been a while... so, need to ponder. I do think we look at love the same way --so maybe that's an idea? I love what you've written about you and your wife. For thoughts write me at mltabor@me.com and we will get the ball rolling!

Hmmm, I like this. It's like you're going to explore metaphysical fascism here.
